svn export failing to remove .svn directories

I am new to subversion and one of the first things I have tried while
evaluating
it fails. Namely:

~/Projects/tmpdir [511]$ svn export
file:///Users/grahamd/Projects/Subversion/tags/ose-7.0pl6 ose-7.0pl6
... lots of stuff deleted
A ose-7.0pl6/bin/Makefile
A ose-7.0pl6/Makefile
Exported revision 5.
svn: Directory not empty
svn: svn_io_remove_dir: removing `ose-7.0pl6/include/OTC/.svn/prop-base'

This was with:

~/Projects/tmpdir [511]$ svn --version
svn, version 0.19.1 (r5301)
    compiled Apr 12 2003, 20:23:12

The platform is Mac OS X:

~/Projects/tmpdir [512]$ uname -a
Darwin grumpy.local. 6.5 Darwin Kernel Version 6.5: Mon Apr 7 17:05:38
PDT 2003; root:xnu/xnu-344.32.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc

It did manage to remove some of the .svn directories, but not many.

Is this a known issue or something new? The issue tracking system
didn't seem to
bring up anything current about "svn export" like this.

Any suggestions of what to do to generate information that might be of
use to you.
I am not actually subscribed to the mailing list, so please include me
explicitly
