Hoo! Easy on the knee-jerk there :-)

Yes, we could use it in the working copy. Maybe not for everybody, but it
could certainly be used.

I never have network-mounted working copies, so if a solution like solo's
suggestion was an improvement, then yah: I'd definitely use it.
