well, there was a patch that took care of this problem posted by
someone fairly recently (i believe it was to correct another problem,
and building without ra_dav was just a nice side effect), but someone
had a few issues with it, and the author hasn't come up with an updated
version.
can't for the life of me recall who posted it though...
