Karl,

The locale of the WinXP box is United Kingdom. I forgot to mention that when
I browse the repository over https the correct characters appear. It is only
when checking out the repository to the linux box that the character is
mangled. The Linux box is UK as well.
I have also had a problem with editing a script file on Windows that then
gives errors when running it on Linux. I think this is a problem with new
line chars though.
