   Ah. But the only access to the db is via mod_dav_svn, and httpd in
OS X is not threaded.

   INSTALL told me to use BDB 4.0.14 (and still does), hence I used BDB
4.0, not 4.1. I'll try rebuilding with 4.1 and start over.
