No, I wasn't planning an immediate merge, although if people want it I
don't object. I was sort of planning to get other people to use it
and see if anything breaks first. The regression tests pass, and I've
tried a few things by hand, but that doesn't really stress this stuff.
I'd also like to do a bit of thinking about what would constitute the
best interface, now that I know what the problems are.

Yes, I'm aware of the problems.
