I user the ports collection to install libtool 1.4.x (think I grabed the
files from freebsd.org site.) THen I installed and uninstalled according
to which build need which. You will need to make sure to uninstall it
before building anything else from the ports collection. THere is a
warning that most of the ports collection depends on libtool 1.3.x
