Because we absolutely loathe, hate, abhor the insane confusion the
surrounds the cvs commandline client. "Does that -d come before or
after the subcommand? Ohhhhh, oops".

We have global switches in the svn client on purpose, and it's
absolute heaven IMO. I can't ever go back. It's a great, liberating
feeling not having to wonder or worry where you put your switch. :-)
