Sure, i didn't mean to disparage your work, only to beg for pcl-cvs
rewrite as well :). I use vc-version-other-window, vc-next-action
(to commit) all the time.

Now expanding the vc system to be able to provide what the pcl-cvs
interface needs and rewriting pcl-cvs to use that functinality,
thereby getting M-x svn-update practically for free... :)
