so, what's the final word on this one?

could one be able to use this with the pre-compiled windows binaries. Where
is the info regarding this issue can be found Now and in the Future?

Thanks for the reminder, Mike. I'll fix it as best I can; need to
think about whether there are any cases where we need to allow empty
values. If there aren't, then this can be fixed at the config read
level.
