Hmmm, the 3 BSD, sharing 4.4BSD ancestry (and even before 4.3BSD-Net/2) ,
have been able to deal with 64 bits offsets and largefiles since '91.

We also have been using sendfile(2) for a long time.

You should be able to enable largefile support for all *BSD.
