I started out a DAV skeptic myself, but it's been proving itself.
We should get some serious interoperability thanks to DAV, too (in a
few basic scenarios, we already do, in fact).

Shouldn't be too hard, just implement the svn_ra.h interface and
you're done, yeah. That's the theory, anyway; and I suspect in this
case theory and practice have *not* diverged as much as they usually
do.
