Did you read the entire INSTALL and HACKING file? Those are good
places to start. That said, we'd love some contributions to the
user's and developer's manuals in our doc/ directory. And you might
want to read the Subversion "Design" document as well, both in the
source tree and on the web site.

Sorry, I don't know how to respond to this. Either you believe I18N
is important or not, and you seem to be in the minority. :-)

Haven't had a chance to study arch yet. So I'm not sure what you mean
by "tag a file" to detect renames. Subversion supports renames, and
doesn't lose track of the history. If you want to know more, you can ask.

Unlike Bitkeeper and Arch, Subversion wasn't designed to have a big
hierarchy of decentralized repositories. It was designed to be
similar to (but better than) CVS, and for that reason it still uses
the "one repository" model. However, after we reach 1.0, we're still
in a far-better position to add inter-repository communication than
CVS is. And we hope to do that someday.

Create an account for yourself on the Subversion website, as an
Observer. Then go to the mailing-lists page, and subscribe to the
'digest' form of this list, instead of the regular form.

Because we're pre-alpha, we don't have vast tracts of documentation or
HOWTO's. We yet don't have a marketing department. The best thing to
do is to build the code, start participating in discussions on this
list, and possibly talk with some of us on IRC, as mentioned on the
front page of the website.
