Yeah, I'm going to have autoconf check for broken `diff'. That's the
best we can do for now.

I'm also going to file a long-term, low-priority issuezilla task which
says to try to have subversion manually compensate for
no-trailing-newlines (someday.)

I'm also going to enter the FreeBSD Cathedral and start a fight with
the monks. :-) I mean, if GNU diff's escape codes break their
ancient version of `patch', then the solution is not to break diff --
they should upgrade to GNU patch. Grrr.
