Changeset Meeting: Summary

From: Ben Collins-Sussman <sussman_at_newton.collab.net>
Date: 2001-01-17 00:36:37 CET

Hey folks, looks like the big Subversion Meeting in Chicago has drawn
to a close. Those in attendance:

Karl Fogel, Ben Collins-Sussman, Mike Pilato, Jim Blandy, Greg
        Stein, Naren Natarajan, Phil McCoog

I elected myself "secretary" of these proceedings, and you'll see a
number of reports coming from me. :)

There were two major topics covered during the 2-3 days of talks:

  1. General theory and use-cases of "changesets", and whether
      Subversion can support them.

  2. Resolve (face-to-face) a number of issues that have been
discussed over the the dev list.

The results of topic #1 will be summarized in a forthcoming mail.

The results of topic #2 include a number of changes to the editor
interface as well as other things; I believe I've documented about 7
major changes. Instead of stuffing their rationale and descriptions
into one long mail, I'll send out seven neatly organized mails, one on
each change.

Expect a bunch of mail!
