I wonder. CVS is GPL; Subversion isn't. From what I've heard, RMS is
very pedantic about such things; he might decide that Subversion's
licence makes it inappropriate for use by the GNU project.

I think it might not be a bad idea to ask him about that, just to avoid
unpleasant surprises. (And CollabNet /could/ decide to publish a
"special edition" under GPL, without infecting the development sources.
