Hi,

last night, a colleague and I searched the web for "cvs utf-8" or similar and finally stumbled across your project. It all sounds like what we need.
We are with IBM in Cupertino and are working on the open-source ICU Unicode/I18N library, see http://oss.software.ibm.com/icu/

Our interest in Subversion is mainly to have Unicode files checked into CVS or something like it. You know the problems.
An example for such a file is our Farsi locale data, which is currently checked in as a binary with UTF-8: http://oss.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/cvs/icu/data/fa.txt

I am plenty busy with ICU development, but I would like to stick around a bit and listen in on your discussions, especially when it is about Unicode and encodings in general. I think I know a bit or two about those (http://www.ibm.com/developer/unicode/ :-)

Also, I would like to have especially the Unicode-text-format feature for our project. Time permitting, I will try to pick up Subversion snapshots with it that you deem stable.

Would I find on your web site some text about migrating CVS repositories with their history (and Attic) to Subversion?
I need to read more of your pages and peek into your mailing list archive, but pointers are appreciated.

Thanks!

markus
