At present I am autoconfiscating the software at work.
For preparation I read the report from Erez Zadok, the guy who
autoconfiscated Amd, how he did it.

His fitting remark was, that autoconf/automake/libtool should be
fused into one framework, as most packages will tend to use
them all anyway.

Interesting enough, all these tools can be used in a closed source
project as well, only gettext -something that should be
part of an advanced portability framework and spread among
developeres as well- seems GPLed.

And as far as I can see, i18n seems not a goal of this contest
