Karl:

If I arrive at a better text merge strategy, I should hope that would be
considered relevant to SVN.

On the EROS operating system list, discussions of design issues frequently
examined other systems to see what worked and what did not. We found (and
continue to find) that examination of alternatives is often helpful and
invariably helps us improve our understanding. As long as the discussion
relates to a design decision or issue we are trying to undestand, we find
that broad discussions are helpful.

Often, I don't understand the SVN design sufficiently to translate into SVN
terms.

In response to a recent request, I have started trying to frame my thoughts
in more general ways. I suspect this is too recent for the change in
behavior to be apparent yet. In this instance, please note that I restricted
my initial question to something that would potentially help the subversion
effort and was not DCMS specific.

In any case, be assured that your message has been received.
